About Me

My name is Andy McCaffrey, and I am originally from Bracknell, Berkshire. Many years ago, I moved with my wife and children to the New Forest, where I love the natural beauty of the area. I began acrylic painting about 15 years ago, learning everything I know from YouTube and magazines.

Since then, I have also started pyrography (with advice and support from my friend Gus) and, in an ode to my father, have taken up woodturning and carving.

For many years, I have created pet portraits on wood and acrylic paintings, fulfilling requests from people whose pets have passed away, as well as making a few gifts for their partners.

I have decided to start a website and possibly participate in craft fairs to sell my items.

I have wanted to start my own business; however, the timing was never right, the idea was unclear, and my confidence was never strong enough.

I have always been a huge supporter of the arts. I attend art festivals and fairs to learn about crafting. I am also a member and currently the Secretary of the Waterside Woodcarvers Association, a very friendly and helpful group of individuals.

I am always looking for something unique—something that makes me stop and say, “Wow!” I also enjoy thinking about what I can design and create for people with specific interests, such as Land Rover key hooks, animal placemats, pet cheeseboards, and more.

Therefore, we present to you Andymacsartwork.com : all original, handmade pieces (no laser cutting, etching, etc.), each a unique work of art in various mediums, including paintings, wood carving, pyrography, and more. Send me your ideas, and I will see if I can create them.
