About Me
Hello, my name is Andy McCaffrey. I grew up in Bracknell, Berkshire, but many years ago, I relocated with my wife and children to the picturesque New Forest. The natural beauty of this area has been a constant source of inspiration in my life. About 15 years ago, I discovered my passion for acrylic painting, teaching myself through YouTube tutorials and art magazines.
Over time, I expanded my creative pursuits to include pyrography, with guidance from my good friend Gus, and woodturning and carving as a tribute to my father. These crafts have become a meaningful part of my artistic journey.
Much of my work has been dedicated to creating heartfelt pet portraits on wood and acrylic. Many of these pieces are commissioned by individuals looking to honor the memory of their beloved pets, or as unique, hand-crafted gifts for loved ones.
Now, I’m taking the next step in sharing my art with others. I’ve decided to launch my website and explore participating in craft fairs to showcase and sell my creations.
Starting my own business has been a long-time dream, but for years, the timing never felt right, my vision felt unclear, and my confidence wavered. Finally, I’m ready to turn that dream into reality.
I’ve always been a passionate supporter of the arts, frequently attending festivals and fairs to learn and find inspiration. As a proud member and current Secretary of the Waterside Woodcarvers Association, I’ve connected with a wonderful community of talented and supportive individuals who’ve further fueled my creativity.
I’m constantly seeking something unique—pieces that make people stop and say, “Wow!” I also love brainstorming personalized designs for people with specific interests, whether it’s Land Rover key hooks, animal-themed placemats, pet-inspired cheeseboards, or other one-of-a-kind items.
And so, I’m excited to present Andymacsartwork.com—a collection of 100% original, handmade artwork. Every piece is carefully crafted without the use of laser cutting or etching, making each creation truly unique. My work spans various mediums, including painting, wood carving, pyrography, and more. If you have an idea, share it with me—I’d love to help bring your vision to life!
